Confession time. I love Dwight Yoakam. Especially his version of Suspicious Minds. It's so jangly and cool.

Speaking of jangly, kind of country stuff, I love Uncle Tupelo (No Depression!). I also love the Mavericks. And Bruce Cockburn. Some of his stuff is quite countryish.

And despite the fact that one of the members is divorcing a coworker, I love WoodsAfire, who used to be Pity Sing. Very definitely stuff in an alt.country sort of vein.

But, very much in contrast, I love Squarepusher. Check out Iambic 9 Poetry. Squarepusher. English genius.

Everybody that's anybody likes Dwight Yoakam.

If you want to have a song kick your ass, though, listen to Uncle Tupelo's version of CCR's Effigy. Whew, it's a killer.

The Mavericks are alright, but Raul Malo needs to take it down a notch. The guy's one step away from Vegas.
