The other night Mike showed me what is quite possibly one of the coolest things that I've ever seen. It's called Casshern, and it's a live action anime movie being made in Japan right now. If you go to the website, you can download the preview. Do so. It doesn't matter that it's all in Japanese and you won't understand a word of it. Visually it's stunning. It's kind of the apotheosis of anime. Very very cool. Here's another site about it.

Down load the trailer.

And then go thank Mike.

In light of the probable win of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King tonight for Best Motion Picture, and in honor of Mike, I present you with the NitPicker's Guide to the Lord of the Rings.
I am reading Flash to the Core, by Joshua Davis, who runs Praystation. It's very interesting so far. Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll have some flash animation artwork to go with my odd ambient music, keeping in mind that I'm a complete novice at this time. The book is very well written, and seems to encourage creative thinking, while having a firm grasp of the essentials.

Incidentally, there should be new links to some comics on the right here soon.

Oh yeah, I finished an odd ambient piece yesterday. It's called Obliq. I think it marks a new direction for my electronic music. I'm starting to feel a sense of confidence with what I'm doing. I actually found myself spacing out to the soundworld that I'd created. I'm trying to capture that feeling deep in the center of your brain when you're really sleepy and content and happy. I think I'm getting close.
