Sitting by the fire, listening to Limbik Frequencies, and reading the World Before, by Karen Traviss. Very interesting exploration of some very alien aliens.

Oh, and apparently Ugly Music For Beautiful People on KXUA has a blog. If you're hanging out on Tuesday evening, give it a listen. It never ceases to amaze/amuse me.

Although the wife and I bought a new oven today (well, it was delivered today), I'm going to go ahead and post an official Pete's Wishlist, Christmas coming and all. Not that I expect to get all of this. Some of it is kind of esoteric. Obviously, this is mostly aimed at family. People not interested in my personal desires should disregard the rest of this post.

The first item I want to get is an M-Audio O2, or something comparable. It would make composing stuff on my laptop in Live much easier. The important thing is the USB connection and the knobs.

I'd also really like to get Punch:ERM, a collection of drum sounds made by Saul Stokes on his home made synthesizers. But of course, I can't have everything I want. Heck, if I get only one of these items, or monetary help towards getting them, I'll consider myself lucky.

The other things that I want are mostly books, largely out of print or hard to get. The first one is A Short History of the Future, by W. Warren Wagar. The second one is Hamlet and the Word, by Harold Fisch. The third is A Sense of Unity, by Nader Ardalan.
